Specific watering methods

Watering the plants need to be regular and as per the plant?s requirements. As excess watering is detrimental for the plants, it is advisable to water the plants in a routine manner. Quantity of watering of the plants may be different for different plants. It is worth generating an idea on what should be the amount of water required for specific plants. There are also variations according to the climatic changes and the changes in weather conditions. While gardening or landscaping a particular area, it is necessary to understand the soil-water ratio. The amount of air water ratio is also important for the plant?s growth. Without sufficient water in the plants, the plants may die with suffocation. In such sequences, the plants need enough water. Often due to snowfall or low temperatures, water in the form of ice percolates through the soil and this water remains useless to the plants. Plants require water immediately for use. Transpiration is the process in which plant loses water through leaves. Basically these are few of the processes of water loss but many of such water losing methods are harmful for the plants.

While gardening it should be kept in mind that the top parts of the plant starts showing abnormal symptoms if the root dries up. During landscaping and gardening, clay soil can not be the right choice. These soils are dense and sticky. Soil texture determines how much water a soil can hold and how much it can drain out. Expert and experienced gardeners can select the perfect soil for the plants growth. Sandy soils cannot hold the water, so there remain chances of more water drainage. Vegetables, perennials and bedding plants need consistent watering. Drip irrigation is often best for these plants. Few plants require repeated watering. Watering of herb, shrubs and trees are tedious process and several types of soaker hose and hose pipes are used. Plants often suffer from heat stress and during the time watering is preferable. Mulching is an effective way of preventing moisture loss. While gardening around lawns, it should be remembered that overhead sprinklers are best for watering such areas.

While home planting, watering can be done as per the requirements. For an average gardener, watering the plants is a common misunderstood problem. Soil with organic contents needs special treatment. Again; plants in containers needs very special care, the roots should be always soaked. The newly transplanted woody trees require additional care, after any stem cutting or grafting of the plants, regular check up of the plants and proper watering is needed. Fertilizers, when mixed with plants require more Water. With better gardening skills gardeners can perform better. After few dry winds plants become dry and during such time, watering is vital. While gardening, it is extremely important to know about the watering process. Without watering the plants will die and again with more and intense watering can be detrimental for the plants. So, a close analysis and study of the watering the plants for better landscaping is pre-requisite.
